Story of a young man who found a treasure in the woods and was worried about his wife blabbing it all over the village and their landowner demanding he turn it over. He has an idea and when he's through, indeed the landowner hears about the treasure, but his plan works out that his wife is made to look like a babbling idiot and he's able to keep the treasure.

Illustrated throughout with numerous black/white images and with seven full page color plates. No date but inscription at the front dated Christmas, 1932 gives us the date of publication. An annual publication loaded with short stories and humor for both boys and girls. Printed on inexpensive paper of almost newsprint quality. Very popular books in their day this copy is heavily worn as usual most noticeable as edge wear and wear at spine top/bottom; interior paper age toned else interior is quite nice. GOOD.

The text block is profusely illustrated with black and white drawings, maps, figures and with a few colour plates. The pages are even and firmly attached to the boards. The cut edges foxed and age-toned and some of the pages have light foxing or a few marks. Good plus condition. Issued without jacket.
