Morik…awa Chikashige, fue un artista de grabados en madera, creó obras de arte que guardan un parecido estilístico y temático con las de Toyohara Kunichika, su mentor. La información sobre la vida de Morikawa Chikashige , incluyendo fechas de nacimiento y fallecimiento, es escasa. Sin embargo, su linaje artístico está bien documentado: fue aprendiz del artista de ukiyo-e Meiji Kunichika Toyohara . A pesar de la escasez de detalles biográficos, el legado de Chikashige perdura a través de un importante conjunto de xilografías. Los grabados de Chikashige destacan por sus vibrantes colores, característicos de muchas xilografías de principios del periodo Meiji.
