Condition: Very Good. George Edwards (illustrator). Antique hand-colored print of an orangutan with uncolored head in profile. By naturalist and artist George Edwards for his Gleanings of Natural History Containing Figures of Quadrupeds, Birds, Insects, Plants, &c. published in London 1758. He was employed for many years as a natural history painter by Sir Hans Sloane, founder of the British Museum. Approximately 9 x 11 in and with mat 14.5 x 16.5 in.
