Tall squarish 4to., full brown leather stamped in gilt, with a large pictorial paper panel on the upper cover, (97)pp. With 50 colour illustrations by Rackham. Some scattered and minor foxing, offsetting from the border of the illustrations onto the facing pages, lacking the ties but in fact a near fine copy.

Condition: Collectible; Very Good. 1st. Very impressive 1872 folio collection of 52 lovely chromolithographed Parisian fashion plates. Sumptuous color thruout, elaborate samplings of the leading women's fashions --and hair styles-- of the day. The plates along each recto, each verso blank. Bound in 1/4 morocco (with gilt-tooling and lettering along the spine) over marbled boards. Solid and VG, with very light abrading at the rear panel. Internally, clean as could be, with no foxing or markings to speak of and bright, vivid color to each plate.
