Paperback. Condition: Good. My faith journey has been one that took many twists and turns as I struggled to figure out that Jesus needed to be more than just my Savior. Once I realized He had to be Lord and Ruler of my life, my passion and gifts for writing were revealed to me. I began with journaling during my devotional/quiet time. With pen and journal in hand, I would totally open myself up and pour out my heat to God. It was during this time that I began clearly hearing God speak to me and I would write in my journal the lessons He taught me. July of 2008, my husband, Billy, was diagnosed with Stage 3 colorectal cancer and many people wanted to be kept up-to-date on his condition. Thus, I began composing update e-mails that I hoped would glorify God and how He was sustaining us through this cancer journey. However, I was determined I would wait on God to give me the words He wanted me to share. So with the keyboard at my fingertips, I began sharing the lessons God was teaching us along this journey. While everyone was very grateful to hear that Billy was being healed, they were very touched by how God was working in our lives. Little did I know that God would use the recipients of these e-mails to encourage me to see my passion for writing as a gift that God was using to call me to expand His territory. Therefore, during the summer of 2010, I finally heeded Gods call to put all my journaling skills and His lessons into composing this devotional book. I pray that God will be glorified as He uses these lessons to help you come to know Him in a deeper more intimate fashion: Broken Shells Chasing Crabs Lessons from The Boys Loving the Unlovable Root Bound Score Another for God Candy Along the Way Flowers From Fertilizer I Want One of Those Covered in Feathers Dead Trees and Deep Roots Foresight Dance With Me The Birds and the Bees Angels and Chemo God's Orchestra Healing in the Journey Seeing the Wheat Scarcely Abundant Strolling Cracked Pots Give Em More These stories reflect Susans ability to see God in both the big and the little life events. They will inspire you to seek God in both the extraordinary and ordinary events of your life. Jennifer Reese - Academic Coach Dade County High School Trenton, Georgia.…

Paperback. Condition: Good. Now an HBO film Catch the premiere this fall. In 1966 Muhammad Ali announced his intention to refuse induction into the United States Army as a conscientious objector. Hardback. Condition: Fair. The epic life and times of one of the most important political figures in our history. He was the Great Compromiser, a canny and colorful legislator and leader whose life mirrors the story of America from its founding until the eve of the Civil War. Speaker of the House, senator, secretary of state, five-time presidential candidate, and idol to the young Abraham Lincoln, Henry Clay is captured in full at last in this rich and sweeping biography that vividly portrays all the drama of his times. David S. Heidler and Jeanne T. Heidler present Clay in his early years as a precocious, witty, and optimistic Virginia boy, raised on a farm, who at the age of twenty transformed himself from bumpkin to attorney-a shrewd and sincere defender of the ordinary man who would be his eventual political base. The authors reveal Clay's tumultuous career in Washington, one that transformed the capital and the country. Nicknamed "the Western Star," Clay became the youngest Speaker of the House shortly before the War of 1812 and transformed that position into one of unprecedented power. Then, as a senator, he joined and sometimes fought John Calhoun and Daniel Webster to push through crucial legislation affecting everything from slavery to banking. Commonly regarded as the greatest U.S. senator in history, Clay served under ten presidents and overshadowed most of them, with the notable exception of his archrival Andrew Jackson. Clay ran unsuccessfully for president five times, and his participation in the deadlocked election of 1824 brought about the "Corrupt Bargain" with John Quincy Adams that made Clay secretary of state-and haunted him for the rest of his career. As no other book, Henry Clay humanizes Clay's marriage to plain, wealthy Lucretia Hart, a union rumored to be mercenary on his part but that lasted fifty-three years and produced eleven children. Featuring an inimitable supporting cast including Aaron Burr, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, James Monroe, James Polk, and Abraham Lincoln, Henry Clay is beautifully written and replete with fresh anecdotes and insights. But it is Henry Clay who often rises above them all. Horse trader and risk taker, arm twister and joke teller, Clay was the consummate politician who gave ground, made deals, and changed the lives of millions. His life is an astounding tale-and here superbly told. …

Paperback. Condition: Good. Love doesn't break us; it makes us whole, my nana used to say. However, one minute, my world is set on fire, literally. The next, I am raising a six-year-old as a single mom without a clear path ahead of us. No place to live. No job. No money.I'm returning to Sterling Falls to claim what's mine, then there will be no looking back on this beloved small town, a place I consider a handful of sand in the hourglass of my life. Then again, Clay Sylver has shaken up that ancient time clock. The silver fox in his forties is a bit cocky, but solid in every way that matters. He loves his siblings. He works hard. He owns an honest business. Honest, the emphasis here. He also suffers from damsel-in-distress syndrome with a savior complex for lost causes, like stray animals and down-and-out women. And I have a secret crush on him. When I see Clay stranded on the side of the road one dark, stormy night, I stop to offer assistance. Burning with fever, Clay is sick, and my mom-instinct kicks in to give him comfort. That decision throws me off course again. While my past lurks everywhere, I find myself falling in love with Sterling Falls once more and falling harder for the man giving my son and me a safe haven.Love is a risk, according to Clay, but he's slowly rescuing my heart while I'm saving his.…
