First edition, first printing Signed by William Matthews and this is one of 100 that have been numbered and signed in July of 1971. This is the rare number 1, near fine with the usual light rub to cover with light browning and clean text and attractive.

Condition: Near fine. First edition. Warmly inscribed limited first edition of Matthews's early poem, from the library of fellow American poet and Ohio native Stanley Plumly. 7.75'' x 4.5''. Original black and white sewn wrappers. Blue and periwinkle endpapers. Edition of 500 copies. Inscribed on front free endpaper "For Stan, and for that friend at the left shoulder / In memory of the 2nd annual spring bash / 21 March 1973 / Athens / Bill." Light rubbing and edgewear to wrappers. Signed.
