A wonderful story about a dog named Clown who ran away and joined the circus and after a lot of challenges and adventures made it back home to the little girl who loved him. Vimar's illustrations are beautiful; he clearly ranks among the great illustrators of dog stories. This book is in good condition for it's age; there is some minor foxing on some of the pages. It is presumed to be a first edition; the copyright page says 1917 and an owner's notation in thr front says 1930. Green boards with faded gold lettering show some wear but the binding is solid.
