First Edition
Hardcover. Condition: Good. First Edition; First Printing. frontis & 3 plates (glossy); Small 8vo 7½" - 8" tall; 202 pages; The uncommon true 1st edition and printing of the 7th title in the Nancy Drew series. Bound in original light blue cloth with title lettering to spine in blue and to cover in blue outlined yellow type. Plain cream colored endpages. Farah 1932 A-1. The last of the books to be published in the original binding format and only in the 1st printing of this title. Illustrated by Russell Tandy with a frontis and three plates on glossy stock. Title list at front and rear of book both end with #7 "Diary". This copy is a bit tired, shaken in the spine and with a split in the front endpage mended with archival papewr kozo. Cloth at spine sunned and lightly to moderately faded but with titles still showing bold. Corners lightly bumped and slightly rubbed through. Trace fray and thinning to cloth at spine ends. Three distinct prior owner names in pencil and pen to front endpage, two of which have been crossed out. Contents generally clean and neat, though with the infrequent instance of superficial fingering soil and the expected general light toning to the page stock. A small pencil eraser sized dent in the front board and small rectangular shadow from an old placement of masking tape to a blank are of the cover board. This title is elusive in the true 1st printing, here offered in a worn but generally sound example - a filler or holding copy. Good only.
