L'auteur évoque également les combats de Yalu, Chemulpo et Santiago (à Cuba en 1898 : "A Santiago, les Espagnols perdirent 510 hommes sur 1900 : 350 tués ou noyés et 160 blessés. Les Américains eurent 1 tué et 1 blessé. Ils tiraient en toute sécurité comme à la cible, pariant bruyamment sur chaque coup, ce qui indigna le commandant d'un vaisseau qui rappela à ses officiers que leur cible étaient des hommes qui mouraient".) Abel-Truchet privilegia soggetti della moderna vita urbana di Parigi e specificamente il quartiere di Montmartre. à anche conosciuto come ritrattista e per i suoi paesaggi riportati dai suoi viaggi nel sud della Francia ed in Italia. In occasione di un soggiorno in Tunisia, fece anche dipinti orientalisti.Volontario all'inizio della Prima guerra mondiale, fece parte nel 1915 di una squadra pionieristica che si occupava di camuffamento militare. Er studierte an der Acadà mie Julian, wo er Schüler der Maler Benjamin Constant und Jules Joseph Lefebvre war. Ab 1891 stellte er die Gemälde insbesondere im Salon d'Automne, im Salon des artistes français und in der Socià tà nationale des beaux-arts aus, deren Mitglied er 1910 war. Abel-Truchet privilegiert Themen des modernen Stadtlebens in Paris und insbesondere die Montmartre Nachbarschaft. Er ist auch als Porträtmaler bekannt und für seine Landschaften von seinen Reisen in Südfrankreich und in Italien berichtet. Während eines Aufenthalts in Tunesien fertigte er auch orientalistische Gemälde an. Zu Beginn des Ersten Weltkriegs war er freiwillig Teil eines Pionierteams, das sich 1915 mit militärischer Tarnung befasste. AnschlieÃend wurde er Leutnant im 1. Genie-Regiment, wurde im September 1918 verletzt und starb an seinen Verletzungen. Zwei Gemälde wurden posthum auf der Ausstellung der Künstler ausgestellt, die 1919 auf der Autonomen Automobilausstellung für ihre Heimat starben. Satirical representation concerning the French army during the First World War. Louis Abel-Truchet was a French painter, exponent of post-impressionism. He studied at the Acadà mie Julian where he was a pupil of the painters Benjamin Constant and Jules Joseph Lefebvre. Starting from 1891 he exhibited the paintings, in particular at the Salon d'Automne, the Salon des artistes français and the Socià tà nationale des beaux-arts of which he was a member in 1910. Abel-Truchet privileges subjects of modern urban life in Paris and specifically the Montmartre neighborhood. He is also known as a portrait painter and for his landscapes reported by his travels in the south of France and in Italy. During a stay in Tunisia, he also made orientalist paintings. Volunteer at the beginning of the First World War, he was part of a pioneering team in 1915 that dealt with military camouflage. He then became second lieutenant in the 1st genius regiment, was injured in September 1918 and died of his injuries. Two paintings were exhibited posthumously at the exhibition of the artists who died for their country at the 1919 Autonomous Salon. In the 17th arrondissement of Paris the street where the headquarters of the Association of Painters-Lithographers was located now bears his name.
