Illustrated board to front with light shelfwear and a couple of small marks; lower board is plain white with a few marks and light creasing to one corner. Brown cloth spine, slightly worn to top and base. Christmas gift inscription to ffep. Frontispiece colour iillustration tipped in. Following the frontispiece the block has come loose from the stapled binding but remains square and tight. Unpaginated [36pp.] sequence of children's rhymes with b/w illustrations; publisher advertisements at the end, including the rear pastedown. Contents clean and bright. Scarce. Clifton Bingham was Nister's in-house popular lyricist.Louis William Wain (5 August 1860 4 July 1939) was an English artist best known for his drawings of anthropomorphised cats and kittens. Wain produced hundreds of drawings and paintings a year for periodicals and books, including Louis Wain's Annual which ran from 1901 to 1921.
