4to. 2h. Sin encuadernar. Buen estado. En 1845 la Iglesia española acababa de salir de un duro enfrentamiento con el régimen liberal en los años de la minoría de edad de Isabel II. Se habia llevado a cabo una profunda reforma de la Iglesia establecida, aboliendo los diezmos, liberando las propiedades de los particulares, y reduciendo el número de clérigos y monjas. La Iglesia, con la excepción de muy pocos obispos, se opuso totalmente a esta política de reforma. El sustento del clero secular y el mantenimiento y servicio de las catedrales e iglesias parroquiales debían ser responsabilidad del gobierno a través del presupuesto nacional, mediante el llamado Presupuesto de culto y clero. Con la nueva Constitución de 1845, el Estado Español volvió a ser confesional.
