Hard Cover. Condition: VG+. Dust Jacket Condition: VG+. No Additional Printings Noted. Octavo. Light blue cloth covered boards and spine with dark blue lettering on the spine. Book has light bumping at the head and tail of the spine with a trace of accompanying rubbing. Light rubbing at the extreme tip of each of the outside corners. White endpapers. Binding is straight and tight. Something, at one time poked the top of the book, leaving a small triangular tear on the first few pages - the mark is gone before the text of the novel begins, and the pages are otherwise clean, white, and crisp. 317 pages. Dust Jacket - has light rubbing at the head and tail of the spine and at the tips of the four outside corners - some faint wrinkles in the same places. Just a trace of rubbing in a few places along the upper and lower edges. Chip in the upper edge of the front inside flap is about 1/4" long and 1/3" deep - just above the $4.50 printed price. Colors are bright and vivid, and the book has a very nice overall appearance. Buck won the 1932 Pulitzer Prize for Novel (changed in 1948 to the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction).
