DJ appears to have had a coffee mug rested on center of front, which created a circular stain visible from both sides of the DJ. DJ has light edgewear…and surface scratching; DJ light parts toned, with dark smudging on back; small rips and chips in DJ at corners. Fabric on spine ink rubbing. Binding tight, hinges tight. Pages clean and clear.

This autobiographical novel is set during WWII and is informed by the author serving with distinction as an officer in the Royal Artillery, the newly formed Commandos, and finally at headquarters of Combined Operations. Rising to the rank of Colonel, Henriques was awarded the Bronze and Silver Stars for bravery in North Africa and Sicily while attached to U.S. Forces under Patton. (see "Robert Henriques--My Biography" published in 1969. A SCARCE novel.
