Covers rubbed and worn, especially around edges. Significant foxing to the endpapers and the first and last few pages. Whilst there is some foxing throughout the book it is mild and sporadic. No loose pages. Some inscriptions and writing on the endpapers but all pages and tables seem clean and free of markings and annotations. Please enquire for photographs.

Hardcover. Reprint of 1864. Very good in its original, full leather covered boards with a red leather title label on the spine with gilt text and three gilt, horizontal lines. An octavo of 8 5/8 by 5 1/8 inches with the front joint and hinge worn through on the lower 5 inches which has been reinforced. The end sheets have numerous pencil notations and computations and the front paste down shows an early prior owner's name of Thomas Scolland. The frontispiece and several of the map plates have dampness stains. viii, 344pp, xliv, 356pp. Illustrated with a frontispiece and eight plates of either maps or navigational devices.
