Fra gli incisori rappresentati in questo volume: Branca, Cambellotti, De Carolis, Ferenzona, Gamba, Paschetto, Pavone Grotta, Servolini. Zanverdiani, ecc. Fioriture alla brossura, un piccolo restauro alla cuffia inferiore; un'etichetta al dorso. Etichetta di privata biblioteca all'interno. Buon esemplare. Prima edizione, impressa in 500 esemplari numerati su carta di lusso appositamente fabbricata (n° 271). Include gli artisti più significativi nell'ambito dell'illustrazione degli anni Venti. Dall'analisi degli oltre 600 artisti presentati dal Ratta, emergono con significativa frequenza le opere di De Carolis e Cisari, seguite da quelle di Bruno da Osimo, Servolini, Gamba, Wenter Marini, Haas Triverio, Marussig, Morbiducci, Patocchi, Cambellotti, Pavone Grotta, Pettinelli, Zanverdiani, Ricci, Branca, Nonni, Disertori, Pandolfi, Antony De Witt e Sartorio; artisti tutti attivi nell'ambito dell'illustrazione, ma rigorosamente provenienti da quello dell'incisione xilografica. Presenza dominante, la cui scomparsa induce Ratta ad aprire il IX vol. degli Adornatori con un inserto di 30 tavv. delle sue opere, sarà Adolfo de Carolis, seguito da Giulio Cisari (1902-79), architetto, pittore, incisore e cartellonista. I voll. di questa raccolta sono tutti caratterizzati dalla massima raffinatezza tipografica e riproduttiva: tutte le incisioni sono state tirate direttamente dalle matrici originali e molti voll. contengono inserti in forma di cartoline, copertine ed estratti originali forniti direttamente dai relativi editori.
