Four Department Q novels were adapted into Danish-language films between 2013 and 2018: "The Keeper of Lost Causes" (Kvinden i buret, 2013); "The Absent One" (Fasandræberne, 2014); "A Conspiracy of Faith" (Flaskepost fra P, 2016); and "The Purity of Vengeance" (Journal 64, 2018). These films were released theatrically in Denmark, where they were major box office hits, especially "The Purity of Vengeance", which became the highest-grossing Danish film of 2018.
