Printed Wrapper. Condition: Good. [20] pp. For sale by Oberholtzer & Co. Berlin. Tan stiff paper wrapper, one sewn gathering. On the back cover is an ad for Biggs's Blank Chalk-Rece'ving Online Maps! Biggs states that these "maps are invaluable in teaching Geography. The construction lines and outlines of the map are painted in white on a black prepared surface, size about 40 × 50, though they may vary to the proportions of the map. All orders should be addressed to Wm. T. Briggs Bridgeport, Ont." Preface dated 7 August 1878 in which the author explains that the work has been put together at the request of a number of teachers, that it is part of a much larger work, and that the "constructive lines used in this work have been devised by the application and extension of an old principle of linear drawing." List of maps includes: I North America: II South America; III Europe; IV Asia; V Africa; VI Australia; VII British America; VIII Ontario. Each map has "directions for drawing the construction lines". Although Biggs's booklet is cited in the Sessional Papers, Vol. 12, Issue 7 (session 1879), no other copy is recorded or located. Book.
