SIGNED, DATED AND INSCRIBED BY THE AUTHOR'S SISTER, IN BLUE INK, ON FFEP 'Maurice Frost with best wishes from the author's sister. 26th August 1965'. Unfortunately the name of the author's sister is now lost. Some edge wear, chipping and small loss to top and bottom of jacket and spine, corners rubbed with tiny loss, some browning and spotting to spine and back jacket, some spotting and yellowing to flaps, prelims and endpapers due to poor quality war time paper. Not price clipped (6s), no other inscriptions, internally cleanish, tight and square, overall a vg+ copy for its age. 192pp. An extraordinary psychological study of a man facing the uncertainties of illness and the possibility of death. Sadly, prolific Anglo Irish writer, poet and film critic Leonard Strong (1896-1958), is now largely forgotten. He was a director of the publishers Methuen Ltd. from 1938 until his death and was a friend of W. B. Yeats and John Francis Swaine. Signed by Author(s). …
