Hardcover. Condition: Very Good +. 1st Edition. London Hale, 1969. Book condition: Very Good +, no inscriptions, boards bit grubby and there is some foxing to page edges. Dust Jacket: Very Good +, not price clipped but small tape stains on flap edges show it has been wrapped in a cover and a crease 1/2in from bottom edge suggest… that it has been folded - but it still looks pretty good. 1st UK Edition First Printing.

Hardcover. Condition: Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. Corpse in Handcuffs; Frank A. Smith; MacMillan of Canada, Toronto; 1969; first Canadian edition; printed in Great Britain by Clarke, Doble & Brendon Ltd., Plymouth. Frank Smith was born in Canada and went to England at the age of six. At the age of 16 he went to work…in Bletchley Park, the wartime station where enemy communications were being decoded with the aid of the famous Enigma machine. He began writing in the 1960s. The theme of the first five books, beginning with CORPSE IN HANDCUFFS, this book, was espionage in the Cold War years, but when that came to an end, he moved on to police procedurals. He is the author of the series of Chief Inspector Neil Paget mystery novels, including Stone Dead and Fatal Flaw, which was nominated for Best Crime Novel of the Year by the Canadian Crime Writers Association in 1996. He lives in British Columbia, Canada. This book, 176 pages, is in fine condition in a very good dust jacket, that is now in a protective mylar wrap. This is a beautiful copy of the author s very first book, and as noted, printed in Britain but published in Canada. An important book for anyone who collects Frank A. Smith.
