Condition: Very good. Ancelin, Charles (illustrator). First edition. Color pochoir (screenprint). Overall ca. 23 x 16 inches, image ca. 19 x 12 1/2 inches. Matted in shrinkwrap (not examined under the mat). Signed in the plate. Reflection and shadow on right side of photo, which is also too dark. A richly colored, vibrant scene of Thoroughbreds going to the post, one of Ancelin's series of racing subjects in his bright linear style. This one is relatively uncommon. Ancelin (1863-1940) was a popular French illustrator and pochoir artist. Shipping/handling will be extra; please keep this in mind when ordering. Unbound sheet, matted in shrinkwrap.
