The covers are worn with the corners worn through to the card board underneath, and the covers are rubbed with some soiling and there is the number 10 written on the front top right corner. The spine is very worn with tears and missing pieces and was repaired with clear tape. The pages have tanned some but are clean except for some scattered light soiling. Size: 16mo - over 5¾" - 6¾" tall.

The book was published by Rand McNally & Company in 1957 and appears to be at least a second printing. This copy was printed in 1957, the original in 1950. This copy is only in good condition at best. The TEXT is just fine. Nice white pages, with Phillips' bright colorful illustrations and nice simple bold-faced print for a primary reader. The problem is with the boards, and in particularly the spine. The lamination is not on the spine any more, the spine was not in great shape to begin with, and I've taped it to prevent further eroding. Though it isn't removed from the text yet . . . that's a possibility if there's any unkind handling. Nevertheless the book should be quite readable for many more years, and Phillips' illustrations are on every page . . . both full color and four-color, or so. Apparently the book was once given away with purchases of Tide or Ivory liquid. It's very rare in any condition. The book is 7 5/8" by 10 1/4" and has about 30 unnumbered pages . . . charm and nostalgia. Thank you!
