Watrous was a painter, muralist, mosaicist and professor at the University of Wisconsin, now best remembered for the Paul Bunyan murals in the Memorial Union and large mosaic on Vilas Hall; Frank was his colleague, art history professor Frank Horlbeck. First edition (first printing), hardcover in jacket as pictured. Book shows light edgewear, dent to bottom edge affecting both boards & the textblock; jacket shows light rubbing, couple of short tears, half-inch chip to upper front panel, light spine fade. Text clean; xiii, blank, 170 pages, diagrams, index, appendix, bibliography, many b/w illustrations. The printing of the illustrations is superior to those in the various reprints. Size: Quarto.
