Condition: Very Good +. New York: Crazie Publications, June 1969. First Edition. Slim quarto (28cm); publisher's photographic wraps with suggested price (15¢ donation) intact; staple-bound;6pp.;afew black-and-white illustrations throughout. Wrappers lightly worn and toned at edges. Binding sound. Interior pages clean, if lightly toned. Very Good or better. Inaugural issue of this short-lived anarchist newsletter dedicated largely to outlining the group's central demands summarized in their own words as "equality, justice, jobs, freedom, an end to racism, corruption and terror." Also features a poem and two comic strips parodying Superman (turned Superpig who defends Scum City) and Mickey Mouse (transformed into shotgun-toting vigilante Venceremouse). The group believed in "responsible terrorism," and orchestrated political stunts and bombings patterned after the Irish Republican Army and Front de libération du Québec. Though this newsletter is attributed to a series of pseudonyms (such as Cheese Guevara), notable members included Sam Melville, Sharon Krebs, Robin Palmer, and George Demmerle, whose revelation as an FBI informant led to the group's dissolution.
