A fantastic and unique personal collection of tipped-in arms, crests and monographs. Bound in the publisher's original gilt, cloth binding. Undated, with the date estimated from the establishment and activity of institutions and warships represented. With forty-eight gridded leaves designed for pasted monograms and eighteen filled with tipped-in crests. The majority of crests represent British military regiments and aristocracy. The Royal Navy crests include; H. M. S. Argus, a British aircraft carrier, launched in 1917. H. M. S. Plover, a 1930 coastal mine-laying ship and older ships including H. M. S. Ariel and H. M. S. Britannia, now docked permanently in Port of Leith, Edinburgh. British Army regiments represented inlcude; 24th Regiment, 32nd Regiment, 2nd Life Guards. With additional crests of governmental offices, educational institutes and members of the British aristocracy and Royal family, such as The Princess Royal. An envelope of some seventy, loosely inserted monograms and crests including those of eminent European aristocrats; The Empress of Russia, King of the Belgians, Marchioness of Wesminster and the Duke of Coburg amongst them. Bound in the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, smart. Boards slightly faded. Some edge wear caused by bumping to extremities, with lifting to cloth at joints and minor loss at extremities and tail of spine. Slight offsetting to end papers. Internally, only starting throughout, pages firmly held. Pages bright and clean with the occasional handling mark or residue stain. Additional envelope of crests, sound with some loss and spotting.
