Light blue cloth, titles stamped in black on front cover and spine, xx [2], 580 pp., frontispiece, acknowledgment, foreword, prologue, illustrated, portraits. In this amazing biography, Pruiett opens his personal files and reveals how he evened the score with society that had wronged him as a youth, and built up an astounding record as a criminal defense lawyer. He was a self-taught lawyer who successfully defended people accused of matricides, patricides, ax-murderers, poisoners, dope-heads, prostitutes, criminally insane, and just plain citizens with quick tempers. Six Guns 1774 says "Rare" and "This prominent lawyer had many legal associations with the outlaws of the Southwest. The first edition is very rare, and the second and third printings are very scarce." Spine lightly faded else near fine tight copy in the rare dust jacket with light wear to the spine ends and corners, lightly creased at the top edge of the rear cover, and with two closed tears to the bottom edges of the front and rear covers.
