Michael Yorke and others, 3 letters from the Rev. Michael Yorke to Berlin, a letter from Anthony New of the Architects The Seely and Paget Partnership architects of the new Portsmouth cathedral, 2 letters from The Rev. Edward Bannister to Ian Jessop of the Christchurch Parochial Church Council rejecing the sculpture because of it's association with a Catholic 'Roman Cult' , a letter from F.G.Bicknell of the Christchurch Parochial Church Council to Berlin. Letters between Berlin and A.S.R Hayles manager of Lloyds bank in Lyndhurst, explaining the difficulties associated with obtaining payment for religious commissions and asking for extended credit. A series of letters (7) between Pauline Annesley of Thicket Lodge, Southsea and Berlin from 1971 where Berlin has offered the Pieta as a gift to Portsmouth Cathedral but theoffer has not been taken up. Unfortunately the Stone statue of Mary by Sven Berlin refused by Diocesan Committee as not appropriate as Mary is crowned, was eventually awarded to Jonathan Sells.
