This even was organized in response to the cancellation of the White House Poetry Symposium , and 750 people attended an evening of poetry and protest hosted by the First Congregational Church of Manchester, Vermont. This book is the result of a collaboration between Northshire Bookstore and George Braziller, Inc. Mr. Braziller attended the event. Hermann Zapf (8 November 1918 - 4 June 2015) was a German type designer and calligrapher. Typefaces he designed include Palatino, Optima, and Zapfino. Zapf's career in type design spanned the three most recent stages of printing: hot metal composition, phototypesetting (also called cold type), and digital typesetting.
