Banatao (born May 23, 1946) is a Filipino entrepreneur and engineer working in the high-tech industry,[2] credited with having developed the first 10-Mbit Ethernet CMOS with silicon coupler data-link control and transceiver chip, the first system logic chipset for IBM's PC-XT and the PC-AT, and one of the first graphical user interface (GUI) accelerators for personal computers.[3][4] A three-time start-up veteran, he co-founded Mostron, Chips and Technologies, and S3 Graphics.[5] Background Banatao was born on May 23, 1946 in Iguig, Cagayan, Philippines. His father, Salvador Banatao, was a rice farmer. His mother, Rosita Banatao, was a housekeeper.[2] Banatao is known for his rags to riches story. During his childhood, he walked barefoot on a dirt road just to reach Malabbac Elementary School. He pursued his secondary education at the Jesuit-run Ateneo de Tuguegarao. After high school, he pursued his Bachelor of Science in Electric Engineering from the Mapúa Institute of Technology and graduated cum laude.[6][7] After college, he turned down several job offers, including one from Meralco. He joined Philippine Airlines as a trainee pilot, and later joined Boeing. At Boeing, he worked as a design engineer for the company's new commercial airliner and cargo transport aircraft, Boeing 747, in the United States. With the opportunity to stay in the United States, he then took his Master of Science in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Stanford University and finished in 1972.[2][8] Banatao also joined the Homebrew Computer Club, where he met Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak.[9] After finishing his master's degree, Banatao worked with different technology companies such as the National Semiconductor, Intersil, and Commodore International where he designed the first single chip, 16-bit microprocessor-based calculator.[2] In 1981, he developed the first 10-Mbit Ethernet CMOS with silicon coupler data-link control and transceiver chip while working in Seeq Technology. Rudolf Olgiati hat sie 1931 aus dem Familienbesitz erworben und sein Leben lang seine architektonischen Gedanken darin umgesetzt. Nach dem Tod seines Vaters hat Valerio Olgiati sie aus dem Erbe übernommen und anstelle des Stalles sein Architekturbüro errichtet. Die Ausstellung dokumentiert die architektonischen Veränderungen auf dem Grundstück, aber auch das Bauen und Wohnen als Ausdruck der Kultur seiner Bewohner. Die kulturelle Prägung ist dabei von besonderem Interesse, da sie sowohl anerzogen, als auch vom Individuum durch eigene Erfahrung und Wille bestimmt wird. Dado ist ein Ort dieser Auseinandersetzung - die heutige Situation deutet darauf hin, wie Valerio Olgiati dem architektonischen und kulturellen Erbe seines Vaters gegenübersteht. Bilder und Pläne zeigen, wie Dado von Rudolf bewohnt wurde und wie es Valerio nun bewohnt. Persönliche Möbel und Gegenstände zeigen ästhetische Vorlieben, manche Objekte haben hohen ikonographischen Wert für die beiden Architekten und ihre Arbeit. Signatur des Verfassers.

Les textes de ces deux voyages ont été entièrement revus et corrigés par l'auteur. Cette édition est illustrée de 9 reproductions à pleine page en couleurs de collages de Dado. Tirage limité à 2.150 exemplaires numérotés. Un des 100 premiers exemplaires, seuls à être présentés dans un emboîtage avec une chemise illustrée, et à être accompagnés d'une gravure originale en taille-douce numérotée, datée et signée au crayon par l'artiste.
