They form part of a collection of 31 tales, called the Buds and Blossoms series, published around 1853, retailing at a penny apiece. Some, if not all, are attributed to Hannah Ransome Geldart. Each story comes with a couple of illustrations. The other titles are: The Fir Tree's Story; The Fishermen's Children; Little Peepy; Rabbits and Peewits; Alice and Her Bird; Little Charley; A Doll's Story; The Faithful Dog; Spring and Summer; The Hero Without Courage; The Children's Visit to the Sea; Busy Bees; The New Ascent of Mont Blanc. Each story runs to 23 or 24 pages.The final leaf ot Mont Blanc is lacking. Some age browning throughout, but still quite sound and readable. Scarce. Size: 32mo - over 4" - 5" tall.
