Small octavo. 5.5 x 7.5 in. 88 pp. Near fine in original pictorial paper-covered boards with some shelfwear to bottom edges and a very good pictorial dust jacket with rubbing to edges and sunning to spine. The poet Mark Strand's copy with his ownership signature to front free endpaper. A laid-in a TLS by Merwin to Strand from 1967. The letter discusses which poems Merwin wants Strand to use to include in an upcoming poetry anthology, likely The Contemporary Poets: American Poetry Since 1940, published in 1969. A lovely association copy. Signed.
