Hardcover. Condition: Nearly Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. James Daugherty (illustrator). First Edition, Later Printing. Two editions of this book are often seen with the published date of 1922 and are often confused. The 1st edition was Published 1922 by Doubleday in Garden City and Illustrated by Remington Schuyler. Another edition, considered a Childrens Edition, was published by Garden City Publishing with the date 1922 (also from Garden City) and illust. by James Daugherty. The Daugherty illustrated book is a seperate edition as it is Large octavo and has large, active, colorful illustations and the rear panel of the Dust Jacket is a promotional for Garden City Childrens Books. All different from the true first edition (octavo, schuyler, 308 pages, and a different jacket illustration.) The present copy offered here is dated 1930 by the advertisements for later S. E. White books mentioned on the dust jacket. A clean dark blue cloth with a color inset on the front book panel and a Dust Jacket with scuffing and edgewear. A nice copy. Size: Large Octavo.
