leather_bound. Condition: Acceptable. Most items will be dispatched the same or the next working day. A readable copy. All pages and the cover are intact (dust cover may be missing). Pages can include considerable notes--in pen or highlighter--but notes cannot obscure the text. An acceptable condition book bound in black leather boards with gold gilt edges and smart gilt pastedowns and endpapers. Rubbing to the book edges and some fraying to the spine ends. There is a very significant crack to the hinge beside the front board that exposes the binding and makes the front free endpaper loose, hence acceptable. The first third of the book has heavy but fairly tidy annotation in red ink by a previous owner who signed their name and '1899' on the front endpaper, and so the notes are presumed to be contemporary and an interesting insight into the book's point of view from an Edwardian-era reader. All text is legible. The textblock edge gilt is still bright and the page bindings after the preliminaries is decent. The internal contents show a mild amount of tanning and age but also remain clean and unfaded. A reading and reference copy of a previous owner's study material that remains fairly handsome and fit for purpose.…
