Contains loose letter signed by the author. Clean pages and illustrations with light tanning and mild foxing throughout. More pronounced to free endpapers and pastedowns. Pen inscription to front free endpaper. Hinges are slightly cracked with exposed netting. Binding remains firm. Boards have mild edge wear with slight rubbing to surfaces and bumping to corners. Lettering is clear. Minor wear marks to boards. Unclipped jacket. Panels and spine have moderate edge wear with chips, tears and creases. Visible wear marks to spine and panels.

Full Morocco Leather. Condition: Very Good. F. C. Yohn (illustrator). Later Edition. Period full red morocco leather with raised bands and compartmented. Gilt lettering on spine. Edges of boards have gilt rulling with inside toolwork and gilt design on inside of board. Marbled endsheets. A lovely unsigned binding. Spine is a bit darkener than the rest of the leather as is common with a small chip to the bottom corner of spine. Signed and dedicated gift inscription on front free endpage. "To my friend/Mr. F.S.
