Originally published by Doubleday, Doran & Company, Inc. in 1940. There are half-inch strips of damp staining along the bottom edges of the front and rear panels of the boards which otherwise have only light corner rubbing. Page edges are browned with a one inch patch of staining at the bottom of the fore edges. Endpapers are browned with previous owners name in ink to the front pastedown and a small tear to the bottom inner corner of the rear free endpaper. Pages are browned with slight staining at the front and back and at the bottom corners of a few pages and a few spots through the book but they are otherwise unmarked. Jacket has heavy chipping to the corners and at the top and bottom of the spine where there is some loss. There is a three inch closed tear to the left side of the front panel at the bottom. There is damp staining along the bottom edges of the front and rear panels with a one inch patch of surface tearing at the bottom right corner of the front panel. Small tears to the left edge of the rear panel.
