Tony Large was born and brought up in Durban, South Africa. This book represents his personal recollection of events in the Indian, and, later, in the Atlantic, Oceans during WWII when he was serving as an Able Seaman in the British Royal Navy, and when he survived the sinking of HMS Cornwall in April 1942 and then in September of the same year, he survived the sinking of the troopship Laconia.
