Softcover. Condition: Near Fine. First edition. Quarto. 352pp. Heavily illustrated from black and white photographs and with color ads. Wrappers with a couple of creases and a small area of impressioning on the cover, about near fine. "The anthology and voice of the Black convention delegate." A fascinating and heavily illustrated guide to dozens of African-American meetings and conventions, from banking to dentistry to social work and fraternal organizations, happening across the country in 1979. Also included are biographies, recaps of several 1978 conventions (with photos), and dozens of ads catering to African-American audiences, including those of businesses rather blatantly highlighting their inclusiveness. *OCLC* locates no separate entry for the 1979 edition and only 10 serial entries. Of the serial entries we could access, all were partial runs and only NYPL notes having the 1979 edition. Uncommon and filled with information.
