cat40a (illustrator). Chicago: Laird & Lee, 1888. 110pp. plus 10 pages of ads at rear. First edition. Original wrappers, front cover missing, spine covered in heavy brown tape. Old stain to lower corner, the upper back cover and last few leaves are chipped in the margins; a good copy at best. Issued in The Pinkerton Detective Series, Vol. 14, April 1888. Listed in Hubin, who mentions that Urner also wrote for Street & Smith under the pseudonym: Burke Brentford.
