It began with a description and analysis of existing conditions, behaviors, and characteristics derived from the survey data regarding type II diabetes within the Indigenous population in Alberta, Canada. The surveys and statistics provided insight into the widespread prevalence of type II diabetes among the Indigenous population in Alberta and what to do about it. Based on Indigenous Survey Data results and data from Statistics Canada on Indigenous health status in Alberta, a six-session protocol was developed.The survey data described medical, cultural, and lifestyle care results for Indigenous people in Alberta and how the results have led to the type II diabetes numbers within the population. This study used the results of the surveys to build and formulate the six-session protocol and analyze the risk factors and high occurrence of type II diabetes among the Indigenous people in Alberta.Physicians who stated that the patients followed protocol regarding weight loss, exercised, regularly monitored blood sugar levels, and minimized risk factors showed a significant reduction in symptoms, which can lead to type II diabetes. Quality of life also improved in those who maintained a healthy lifestyle. Developing a six-session protocol with practical strategies is crucial in managing type II diabetes among the Indigenous group in Alberta. This involves implementing healthy habits and regular physical activity, promoting weight loss. In Indigenous communities in Alberta, prevention measures focus on tackling common risk factors like obesity, a sedentary lifestyle, social disparities, and an unhealthy diet. Increased health knowledge will instill prevention practices, overcome social concerns, and provide better access to lifestyle programs. This will mitigate type II diabetes within the Indigenous population in Alberta.
