First edition. Author's third mystery novel. Fine, bright copy in dust jacket lightly soiled on the white rear panel and a tiny closed tear to the bottom edge of the rear cover panel. Dr. Paul Pyne's wedding was dramatically interrupted, when Jane Stevens, a bridesmaid, became ill in the church vestibule. Prye recognized the symptoms as poison. With one poisoning, one bashed head, several hysterical women, and a most amusing inebriated divorcee, this book is a combination of a fine plot, humor, and characterization. An elusive Crime Club title.
