First Edition. DIANETICS AND THE PROFESSIONS, The Hubbard Dianetic Foundation, Inc., 1953, first edition, fine in wraps as issued. Along with a check to Forrest Ackerman from ALL-FICTION FIELD, INC. which has been holographically endorsed and thus SIGNED by both Ackerman and Van Vogt, seemingly having no relation to the pamphlet offered above. Perhaps the authors rarest book as we have never seen nor handled a copy in over 37 years.

First Edition. *** IN THE SCARCE DELUXE BINDING ***DIANETICS, Hermitage, 1950, first edition, some light wear to the lower fore edge corner tips, some rubbing and light wear to the bottom edges of the boards, else a tight, bright vg+ copy with the t.p.e.'s in gold gilt as called for in a vg+/near fine dust-wrapper. (About thirty years ago, while visiting a bookshop in another state, the proprietor, whom I had known a long time, invited me into his office and asked me if I had ever seen any copies of the special edition of this work SIGNED by both the author and the author of the introduction which were bound in red leather. I not only replied, no, I haven't, but also assured him smugly that there was no such thing ---to which he responded by reaching into a drawer of his desk and placing this imaginary book into my hands! In this instance, the crow didn't taste too bad as just the new knowledge of its existence was the condiment which made it very palatable indeed). Alas, this copy offered up here, one of only 2 copies I have ever seen, lacks the signatures of Mr. Hubbard and Dr. Winter. This fact may not be too hard to swallow, however, as only 35 copies were bound in this fashion and of those, only a handful were SIGNED! But, to make up for this unfortunate circumstance, we have added a SIGNED letter from Mr. Hubbard to one of his long time peers, Grandmaster, multi HUGO & NEBULA award winner, agent and editor, Fred Pohl.
