Illustrated by b/w text cuts throughout. Stated Fourth edition. (c.1830). Original marbled boards, half black calf, gilt stamped bands and spine lettering. 24mo. pp. [iv] blank, 276, [2] blank. Good. Boards are worn and rubbed, one section offset, some edge tears and curling to pages, (ink owners, apparently sisters), small amount of marginalia. Previous owner's working copy with a vast array of (tipped-in) insertions from other period related material: newspapers, engravings, cuts from magazines and other tracts which for the most part to not interfer with text (except for the engraving on copyright page). Truly an unique item. Contains original preface and advertisements to second and third editions.
