One of Thomas Cromwell's commissioners has been killed in a monastery at the fictional town of Scarnsea. From British writer, C. J. Sansom, who also wrote the spy novel 'Winter in Madrid' and the alternate history novel 'Dominion'. Colin Dexter cited this novel as 'The best crime novel I have read this year'.
