Covers are clean and square, though spine is lightly sunned and shelf cocked. Pages are toned but clean and free of marks. Binding strong.

Black DJ with pink, yellow, and white lettering; illustration of skull with stethoscope on front cover. Title page not dated. Copyright page dated 1973. 256 pages. In good condition. Covers are clean. Head and foot of spine a bit bumped. Tight corners. DJ has a fair amount of creasing and chipping along edges; fits snug to boards and has not been price clipped. Previous owner's name and date on front free endpaper. Pages free of marks. Binding is strong. A good reading copy of the Crime Club edition of one of Devine's earliest mysteries.
