Partly-printed DS, 1p, 14" X 11, Springfield, IL, 9 October 187…6. Very good. Light original folds. Ornate certificate appointing William H. Richardson a 4-year term as notary public for the city of Kankakee in Kankakee County. Signed boldly by Beveridge as governor in lower right and co-signed by Secretary of State George H. Harlow at lower left. Circular blind-embossed state seal also at lower left. Quite attractive, with a variety of large elaborate typefaces (some with printed red underlining), etc.
