No Binding. Condition: Good. [London:] Rock & Co., [c.1840]. 10 x 8". 4pp. Cover only printed. Drawing and text set within an ornamental border. Hand-coloured. Small hole in top margin. Some marginal dust-soiling. The imprint 'Rock & Co.' is believed to have been used by the first two formulations of the publishing business of William Frederick Rock (1802-90), viz. De La Rue, Rock & Co. (1821-33) and William & Henry Rock (1833-43). Contains the following verses: 'Befrilled and seated in an elbowed chair, / You scarce have time to think upon the fair; / You look so fat, so happy, and so lazy, / Your very ease will drive each fair one crazy; / Yet steal for once, a little short half-hour, / And now surrender unto Cupi'd power, / On this blest day I woo you from the shrine, / Of that dear loving saint, St. Valentine.'.
