This is a large landscape format book with a full leather binding of top grain leather dyed rich brown with the front cover debossed in gold with the Cord crest and the book title, also in gold, on the spine and the page ends gilded in 24 karat gold leaf. The book contains over 500 rare, unpublished illustrations, photographs and documents with each copy. Herbert (inscribed on FFEP) [165] pp. Chilton Book Company 1970 First Edition 8 1/4" x 5 3/4" Duesenberg Automobile and Motors Company, Inc. was an American racing and luxury automobile manufacturer founded in Indianapolis, Indiana, by brothers Frederick and August Duesenberg in 1920. The company is known for popularizing the straight-eight engine and four-wheel hydraulic brakes. A Duesenberg car was the first American car to win the 1921 French Grand Prix and Duesenbergs won the Indianapolis 500 in 1924, 1925, and 1927. Transportation executive Errett Lobban Cord acquired the Duesenberg corporation in 1926. The company was sold and dissolved in 1937.
