Signed on the title page by one of the authors, Roy Cowgill. 210 x 148 mm; pictorial wrappers; pp. (viii) + 112; colour photographs of the reserves covered. Fine condition. This guide is far more than a compilation of checklists for individual reserves in the area of Greater Durban: it contains much information on habitats, directions to the nature reserves, and special species to anticipate while birding. The authors are experienced naturalists and leaders of birding groups in KwaZulu-Natal.

Signed presentation inscription from one of the editors to inside of upper cover. 246 x 161 mm; printed wrappers; pp. viii + 211 + (ii); tables. Crease to bottom fore-corner of upper cover; wrappers very slightly rubbed; regular, light browning; occasional fox spot. Good condition. "Are Natal and KwaZulu separate entities? Can they ever become so? If not, does it not make more sense to reintegrate Natal and KwaZulu under some new dispensation? Should the Natal and KwaZulu region be treated as a special case in the search for solutions to South Africa's problems? Inspired by the developments of 1980, including the reports of the Quail and Lombard Commissions, and in addition the appointment of the Buthelezi Commission, a Workshop was held at the University of Natal (Durban) in October 1980 to consider these very issues. This book is an edited version of the papers presented at that Workshop .".

Hardcover. Condition: Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Fair. 1st Edition. Signed by Author(s)204 pages (complete). Inscribed by Sam Morley, the editor (dated 24th March 1995). This date is noteworthy as a photograph is included of descendants (?) of 'The Lady in White' in front of the Royal Yacht Britannia who had berthed at the memorial to Perla Siedle Gibson at Durban harbour during the Queen's State Visit to South African in 1995. The 24th March was the day of a reception on board the boat. The inscription reads: "To Etienne What a fantastic monument, wasn't it? Sam Morely". The memoir of the legendary 'Lady in White' who sang her welcome to wartime ships as they arrived in Durban harbour is in general good, happy condition. The dustjacket has very general user wear to the seams and edges. It is secure and assured. The cover has some mild shelving wear and is tight and healthy. Inside, the contents are bright, fresh, cheerful, genial, clean, clear and tightly bound. fk. Our orders are shipped using tracked courier delivery services. signed.

No Binding. Condition: Collectible-Very Good. Dated March 16, 1871. Letter written in ink on 9 7/8" x 8" paper. Some pencil writing on the letter. Charles D'Urban Morris (1827-1886) was a professor of Latin and Greek, teaching at John Hopkins University for a good part of his career. This letter is written to Howard Crosby (1826-1891) and is in reply to Crosby's request to Morris to evaluate Crosby's son's ability to write in English (as opposed to writing in Latin or Greek). Morris's answer is that Crosby's son, Ernest, may need more training. Ernest Howard Crosby (1856-1907) went on to a life as a social reformer and writer. Signed by Author(s).
