Each of the chapters features a striking wood-engraved illustration executed by Charles D. Jones. Printed letterpress on Hahnemühle Schiller by Randolph Bertin, who has signed the colophon. Bound by Bertin in acrylic painted cotton and flax paper made by Priscilla Robinson, with letterpress titles on the spine. Accompanied by the prospectus, a Press Intermezzo business card, and notices for two forthcoming publications. This binding is nearly identical to the one Bertin contributed to the exhibition organized by The Lone Star Chapter of the Guild of Book Workers, which featured 25 copies of Heaven of Earth, each with a bespoke binding executed by a Guild member. "In a series of investigative explorations from the glaciers of Alaska, through the Sierras, and down to the Grand Canyon, the exuberant naturalist reveals the extraordinary workings of nature - glaciation, storms, wildlife, streams, forests, erosion, lakes, and cataclysms - as they conjoin in sublime harmony to shape some of the most magnificent expanses of wilderness on Earth.".
