Hardcover. 12mo, 17.5cm, 696p., frontis portrait (poet), in contemporary hard polished calf, gilt decorated raised bands, gilt decorations and borders in the panels, crushed crimson morocco label, gilt titles, gilt ruled borders with school crest, blind decorated inner dentelles, marbled endpapers and edges, prize presentation bookplate, A FINE SIGNED binging by "Birdsall", a fine copy ~ A very attractive copy bound as a prize edition for Ashbury College, Ottawa with school crest on front and presentation date of 1931. Bindings signed by Birdsall (Northampton & London).

Hardback. Condition: Good. Dust Jacket Condition: No Dw. 1st Edition. Brown cloth lettered in gold on spine. Oval blind designs on both covers. 32 page August 1849 catalogue at rear. Small blind embossed stamp of SHIPTON BOOKSELLERS CHELTENHAM top right of front endpaper. Signed "E P Hughes Malvern 1880" top of front endpaper. Possibly by Elizabeth Phillips Hughes. Beneath is an inscription (probably in another hand) "To Netta Syrett In loving memory of two happy months in Cambridge 1887 . [followed with quotations from R Browning, ?Lewis Morris and St Paul.]" Some pencil lines in margins and two pencillled comments. Fairly clean tight in sound but slightly marked covers. SPINE VERY WORN with minor loss and the whole reglued. An interesting copy but in need of some restoration.
