An 1840 campaign broadside on behalf of Amos Abbot, distinguished Massachusetts public servant and founder of the Boston & Portland Railroad. His campaign was successful, and he returned for three consecutive terms. He retired from Congress in 1849 and died in 1868. REYNOLDS, p.455. Moderate wear at edges and along horizontal and vertical creases, mostly split where previously folded in half. Extensive editorial copy beneath bold heading and patriotic woodcut vignette. Very good.
